Deaf learners in ESOL Provision
This guidance from Education Scotland focuses on some of the supportive practices that practitioners have adopted in working with deaf learners from other countries in an ESOL learning context.
It provides ideas and suggested approaches, including things to consider in planning and preparation to ensure that deaf ESOL learners are effectively supported in their learning journey.
Materials were adapted from SQA ESOL learning support materials. The guidance is divided into sections including general advice, examples of learner profiles (developed from the case studies) and a focus on one profile and the strategies and approaches taken.
