Functional Skills Reform Programme: development of new exemplar curricula

Two distinct but linked exemplar curricula to support the teaching of revised Functional Skills maths and English at all levels (Entry 1 – Level 2) are now in development.

Pye Tait Consulting in partnership with Learning and Work will be leading on this activity on behalf of the Education and Training Foundation.

They are working with expert subject writers to help with the development of exemplar curricula which are intended to provide a useful resource for new and existing practitioners to support their teaching of the revised Functional Skills qualifications, at all levels. The curricula will reflect a range of teaching approaches through example activities. The documents aim to be inclusive for all learners who may be studying in a wide range of contexts; and offer advice and guidance to support a range of neurodiverse learners.

Pye Tait will be holding a closed consultation for people to review a draft of each exemplar curriculum as it is developed. This will take place from mid-January 2017. To register your interest in reviewing the content, please visit the Contact Us page on the Pye Tait website.
