£1.5m fund to promote innovation in e-learning

The Learning Innovation Grant (LIG) programme aims to support innovative development and application of ICT technologies within work-based learning

In liaison with the LSC and DfES, the Association of Learning Providers (ALP) as part of its work towards promoting the Government's
e-learning strategy to open up for bidding a £1.5m fund to promote innovation in e-learning.

The Learning Innovation Grant (LIG) programme aims to support innovative development and application of ICT technologies within work-based learning. They hope to be able to support a range of projects over
the next year, which will encourage innovative developments to improve the use and take up of ICT and e-learning by approved independent providers.

Bids can range from £1,000 - £50,000 in size, and are primarily aimed at LSC-funded independent providers.

Bids must be submitted by noon on the 4th August 2006.
